Starting the New Year with Omron 510W Composition Monitor and Scale.
Life has a funny way of doing things. This week has truly been a week of challenges. By Thursday, my head was heavy, my nasal under pressure, my body aching. I negotiated my need for not being dizzy and not wanting to hug the commode in exchange for giving up exercise. Not just Thursday but through the weekend.
It did make it a lot easier to manage what I ate. Trust me. There isn’t much of an appetite.
I’m a mom so laying in bed, and resting wasn’t an option. I pressed on, which I think dragged out the dramatics of being sick.
Sunday I stepped on the Omron 510W Composition Monitor and Scale. I prepared for the verdict. I felt guilt for having not exercised to the routine. My HJ-323USB Connected Pedometer looked up from the nightstand, restless and coated with a day of dust, short four days of my 10,000 step goal.
The digital read out blinked twice, a signal that I could now look at the scale. ONE POUND DOWN from last week! A total of 11.2 pounds lost!
Sure, I started this challenge believing the glitter and rainbows that I was invincible. I could do this and do it BIG! Sugar, chocolate, soda and stress were something I would be immune from during the challenge. I’d feast on salad, spend my day working out and walking like it was my job.
The reality is life happens.
I’m a real person. I don’t have a personal trainer. I don’t have a personal chef. I’m on this journey for myself. I have responsibilities like children, laundry, appointments and blogging.
Food is everywhere. As a society, it has become our past-time, our meeting place, our celebrations.
Fitting exercise in is my greatest obstacle. It’s a juggling act, but I have found ways to do it. I have battled the chaos, and a one pound loss is no small fete.
I’m celebrating 11.2 pounds of hope.
I’m celebrating an exercise routine that I have done faithfully for weeks.
I’m celebrating that I am empowered to make a change.
I’m celebrating the journey.
