When I was small, we went to Heber and rode the train. I was less than three and had some vague memories of that afternoon well spent. It is a place I cherish, and has taken my own children so that they, too can have fond memories of railroads and trains. We have participated in the North Pole Express during the holidays and taken the Provo Canyon Limited ride, which Li’l Man absolutely LOVED.
We’ll be attending Day Out With Thomas this year, and I can’t wait! It’s been a year or so since Li’l Man was a Thomas the Train junkie, but let’s face it, with Alec Baldwin’s voice, even Mom can still be a fan!
Heber Valley Railroad is looking for an Honorary Conductor for the Day Out With Thomas excursion. The railroad is conducting a contest offering an opportunity for children and their families to take a ride with Thomas the Tank Engine and meet Sir Topham Hatt, the Controller of the Railway.
It’s the perfect kick-off to summer with the event on Memorial Day weekend, May 25-28.

Day Out With Thomas™ offers an opportunity for children and their families to take a 25-minute ride with Thomas the Tank Engine™ and to meet Sir Topham Hatt™, the Controller of the Railway. Every event has a Thomas & Friends Imagination Station with Thomas-themed activities, including stamps, temporary tattoos, hands-on arts and crafts, and a Thomas storytelling and video viewing area.
Activities Include:
Giant hay bale maze
Miniature golf course (putt-putt)
Balloon tying clown
Musical entertainment by “The Pied Piper of Percussion”
Motor-car rides
Magic shows
“Imagination Station” play area
Temporary tattoos

Train Departures: 10:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. (Train departs from the Depot every 45 minutes.)
