Mealtime can be dramatic at our house. We’re working on etiquette. Not over the top etiquette, but things like, don’t wipe your mouth on your shirt sleeve. Paper towels work, paper napkins do too, but the dog shreds napkins if they get near the floor.
When I first married, I remember my friend, Kellie, giving me pretty cloth napkins she had made. She said, “They’re for special occasions!” The reality was we were on a budget, napkins were kinda my thing and so those pretty napkins became everyday luxuries. They helped crunch our budget and keep us civilized.
We recently received Funkins, reusable cloth napkins made for the kiddos. They are practical and work well in lunch boxes, snack time, at home and on the go. No more paper napkins that are wasteful. Just a fun accent to the meal that allows us to be environmentally conscious while at the same time learning some etiquette–both are great life lessons.
We can’t say enough good things about Funkins. They really are adding some fun and civility to our mealtimes!
