Over the weekend, my sister hosted a party for my nephew. He turned eight and has Star Wars Fever. It’s the first party my sister has thrown that I’ve been able to attend and wow! It was amazing.
With printer paper, the invitations were hand-crafted and created to look like light sabers.
What kiddo wouldn’t love receiving an invitation like this?
With specialty paper the party all came together from signs welcoming the young Jedis:
Where they were dressed for the role of Jedi.
My sister is an amazing woman. She cut and sewed Jedi robes for every boy in attendance:
and Princess Leia robes and yarn buns for the girls:
As the guests arrived, they were suited up for their role in the Galaxy.
And trained to perfect their Jedi powers.
And more Jedi Training:
There were signs leading to the food hall:
The Cantina featured black table covers and Jedi Light Sabers for centerpieces:
Where the menu was all things from a Galaxy Far, Far Away.
Small signs that made the menu of White Castle burgers and Bagel Bites into Star Wars themed deliciousness:
It all made the cups and tableware seem invisible with all the fun–like Yoda Soda!
The Jedi’s loved the Padawon Pizza:
And I couldn’t stop eating the Thermal Detonators:
There was even Han Solo in carbide jello:
And, of course, Leia’s Buns:
There was an appearance by Darth Vader–a costume my sister made:
There were Jedi battles in the backyard:
Which lead to a battle of the Force…Darth Vader vs. 15 Young Jedis!
I had to laugh because at the end of the battle, my brother-in-law, Darth Vader, went to his son, the birthday boy and asked him to look at him and said, “I am your father”
then fell to the ground!
We sang Happy Birthday as Darth Vader delivered the cake:
It was an honor since I made the cake:
The birthday boy blew out the candle:
It was the perfect party. One that had us all wanting to join both sides:
