If you like a do-it-yourself project, you might be envious of this fixer upper.
Sitting on 1.6 acres, with partial lake front property this 1964 ranch style home is all about location, location, location!
There’s plenty of trees and a swamp that has plenty of life. It didn’t take us long to find a bullfrog on our first walk to see the property.
Step inside the world of do-it-yourself slaps you in the face.
Last sold in 1996 at an auction, and has
since sat vacant for eight years, there’s a lot of TLC needed.
The living room has water damage.
The front bedroom is Pepto pink; the ceiling has water damage.
The back bedroom is the best condition..it needs new windows.
The bathroom. It needs a lot: new flooring, toilet, sink, sheetrock.
The kitchen needs new cabinets, new flooring, appliances, and windows.
The Great Room has a brick fireplace, but the floors are soggy.
Enter my 72-year old father, who was recently diagnosed with Leukemia. This place is uninhabitable at the moment.
It’s the new project.
I think it has plenty of potential and will make a lovely home for him. It has great views, plenty of room for grandchildren and it’s quiet and secluded from the hustle of everyday life.
The porch will be a favorite place for him to sit and share the memories of his life with family and friends.
Stay tuned as we update the progress of gutting and remodeling this two bedroom/1 bath ranch style home.
