The balance between being a mother and being a woman who is determined to succeed with a personal goal in life is an elusive one. It is tough to find, and even tougher to maintain once found. But, it can be found, and it can be maintained; to do so, you just have to follow the advice below.
First of all, accept that there is more to you than just being a mother
The first hurdle you will have to get over to find the perfect balance to your paternal/purposeful life is the guilt associated with focusing on anything other than your children at all times. But, you will have to get over this guilt if you are going to stand any chance on living a life that you love and are comfortable with and if you are going to find that perfect balance.
Just remember, it’s okay to do things for yourself. It’s okay to be your own person still.
Accept childcare when it is made available to you
To follow on from the previous point, if you’re going to stand any chance of balancing your children’s wellbeing and your wellbeing, then you’re going to need to accept childcare when it is made available to you. You’re going to have to do so because, in order to chase career dreams, you’re going to need time of your own. You’re going to need time to sit down and formulate plans. You may even need time to educate yourself and take courses online in your chosen career subject, such as by taking an online Accounting MBA if accounting in business was your career aspiration. You’re going to need to accommodate at least some of your time to your career goal, and having somebody around to help with the kids will make this far easier to do.
Mornings are key
When finding the balance between motherhood and career, you have to know that mornings — and, yes, this means every morning — are essential. Mornings are key because they can make your day, or break your day, no matter what you do during that day or how you spend it. Simply, each morning needs to be a success. Each morning needs to involve you getting the kids ready for their day at school and your day working for yourself. This means everybody needs to be up early. Everybody needs to be fed. Everybody needs to be showered and washed.
Create a family schedule
It’s not just you that has to work on a schedule; your whole family does too. Yes, as you won’t be able to dedicate all of your time to your parenting, you’re going to have to create a schedule that shares the load. This means that your partner is going to have to get in on the childcare action, too!
There are ways to find that perfect balance between being a mother and being a woman of self-purpose. You just have to keep chipping away at your life until you find it.
