It consumes me. It demotivates me. It leads me to find food that is not a wise choice for healthier me.
My husband started a new job on Monday. It’s one that gave him a promotion in wage and a steady 40 hours. Something we have not seen in almost a year. He’s a better man…happier. It’s been long coming with his former company cutting hours and employees–two years ago they were a force of at least 60–Monday, they became a unit of six.
So while the change is exciting, the drama that has followed has had me in melt-down mode. They with held his pay. Through his company in January, we elected to have a Health Flex Card. (We have no Health Insurance because the former company continued to change companies repeatedly, each time the cost increasing and the coverage decreasing. We simply cannot afford $480 each month in Health Care, especially when he has only been able to work a maximum of 32 hours a week.) At any rate, the former company withheld his pay, AND sent us a bill for $32 for the Flex Card–I guess his 25 hours last week didn’t cover all of it?)
They pulled back the monies they had contributed to his 401K. He was fully vested.
The also took back their contribution to his IRA, as well as the money Jason has contributed this month from his paycheck.
We’ve been a sinking ship and this week we’re to the bone broke.
Guess what I do when stress happens. I bake. I cook comfort foods. I EAT.
The kiddos and I talked about going walking, but we didn’t make it. One day we made it to the top of the driveway and back. It was a proud moment.
This week my salvation was HINT. Have you heard about this amazing beverage? It’s zero calories and I love the flavors…Watermelon is my favorite and perfect for the Summer Heat! It enabled me to increase my water intake and cut back on the sugary drinks and diet soda.
So this week, I am reporting a loss of .50 pounds. It’s a small step, but at least now I’m heading back in the right direction!
How was your week?
