I received Doorstep Desserts in exchange for this post. All opinions are my own.
As a working mom, I don’t always find the time to make a dessert–heck, there are nights I struggle with getting dinner on the table. Thanks to Doorstep Desserts life just got a whole lot sweeter.
Doorstep Desserts is a month DIY Dessert subscription box. Each box includes pre-portioned ingredients and a recipe card with step-by-step instructions to create a delicious dessert.
They offer plans that fit into any lifestyle: weekly, bi-weekly or monthly. They ship for FREE every Monday and their pastry chef inspired kits are delivered right to your doorstep. Everything you need is inside, no trips to the grocery store, no searching the pantry for an item and no wasted ingredients!
The ingredients are fresh and there is a sticker that indicates the best “use by” date.
I received a recipe card with step-by-step instructions for constructing the dessert.
On a separate card, I found nutrition facts and a list of ingredients.
Everything is packaged for freshness inside the box and it is all contained for freshness.
The Doorstep Dessert Chocolate Covered Strawberry Cake kit contains:
- (2) 5-inch chocolate cakes
- strawberry glaze
- chocolate frosting
The two five-inch chocolate cakes are individually sealed in bags to preserve their freshness.
To assemble, we cut each cake in half. We then divided the strawberry glaze into three equal parts and spread one part on each layer.
We continued the layers until we had the cake stacked.
For the final touch, we heated the chocolate frosting up in the microwave for 25 seconds, stirred well and then poured over the top of the cake.
The finished cake was pretty enough. My children learned the importance of cutting cakes into equal halves!
The entire dessert took my children about 5 minutes to make. They had so much fun and the best part was the reward for a job well-done–eating it!
