My Dad Thinks He’s Funny is something most kiddos say. I remember listening to my dad and there were moments I couldn’t help but roll my eyes. I remember my uncle once coming into the living room where the cousins and I were watching a TV show where Cool and the Gang were performing. My uncle announced, “After Freeze and the Mob are done you’re going to go outside”. I thought it was hilarious! My cousins could only say, “Dad thinks he’s funny”.
Katrina Germein must have belonged to the elite club of children whose dad’s thought they were funny. She created a picture book titled, “My Dad Thinks He’s Funny.
It’s a hilarious revelation about dad’s. While reading it with my children I thought, “She wrote this book about my dad!”
I mean, how else could I take it? My dad, too always told us “Try not to get wet” when we went swimming. My dad, too, said, “Let’s chop it off” when we complained our finger hurt. Mine, also asked if he should call a “toe truck” when we stubbed our toes.
Like, Germein, I also grew up with two great dads. My dad and my step-father (only we don’t use “step” in his title). My dad likes to tell really long stories and my (step) dad is a jokester.
Germein does a wonderful job of taking the jokes our dads have told, the ones that make us roll our eyes and shake our heads and still laugh and create a book that will stand through generations of children whose dad thinks he’s funny!
What I love is that Germein took the jokes and did not create another joke book, she created a humorous story.
I love the joke where the child asks, “Do you know what?”–something my seven-year old is ALWAYS asking!
The dad answers, “I don’t know What, but I know his brother.”
Tell me your dad didn’t say that too!
This book is a great collection whether it’s for the kiddos, for you or as a gift for dad (so he can remember those jokes)!
My Dad Thinks He’s Funny is sure to be a favorite!
