Ironically during the month with World Bee Day, (May 20th), we learned of Murder Hornets.
Murder Hornets are not a threat to humans, outside of the fact that they devastate the bee population.
Without bees, humans won’t have much to eat.
They perform the vital task of pollination to ensure the survival of agriculture.
Bees are perfectly adapted to pollinate, helping plants grow, breed, and produce food.
They are the workers in our gardens, our food chain, and the plants we rely on to survive.
Bees transfer the pollen between the flowering plants, which enables the plant life cycle to progress–plants such as vanilla, apples, squashes, almonds, and more.
In fact, one-third of our global food supply is pollinated by bees.
In celebration of the might bee, Comvita, the world’s trusted leader in Manuka Honey, is providing you with a fun and educational activity.
Pull out those crayons and colored pencils and create art with a purpose!
All ages and artistic abilities are welcome!
What better time than now to teach your children, and your followers, about these creatures?
We would love for you and your whole family to flex your creative, artistic muscles and show your support for these pollinators by entering (and sharing) Comvita’s coloring contest HERE.
Your artwork will make a difference- for every entry, Comvita will donate $5 to The Nature Conservancy to support their efforts to protect bees all over the world.
In addition to helping these important creatures, entrants will also be entered to win a We Can Bee Heroes prize pack for the whole family to enjoy.
Be sure to get started by downloading one of our coloring contest templates, or creating your own freestyle 8 x 11 drawing, inspired by the bees, beehive, beekeepers, and Manuka Flowers.
Upload and submit your artwork by May 31, 2020.
