In May, I traveled to St. Louis as part of the Friends of Beneful event. While I was there I was told a secret that I am finally able to share! The Beneful team has spent two years evolving the dry dog food recipes, changing it up and using more ingredients we’re all familiar with and want in our dogs’ food. Real meat is now the FIRST ingredient in all eight of Beneful’s beef and chicken dry foods.
The folks at Beneful have high standards and they are working through their distribution channels to find enough high-quality salmon to update that Beneful recipe to real meat as the number one ingredient in the future.
This is a big announcement. Beneful has listened to the consumer and are updating ingredients based on what their consumers have asked for–and also excluding what consumers have said they don’t want. This means there’s no added sugar in any of the new Beneful dry food recipes. They have also removed the propylene glycol as well as reduced the amounts of dye.
You may have seen the new bags on store shelves where you shop.
We received a bag of Beneful Originals with Beef to try out first hand. Apparently the stuff is good, because we went out of town for the weekend and Bailey Mae and Jeb helped themselves. There was nothing left.
When I visited Beneful, I was impressed by their quality control. They conduct more than 30,000 quality checks in a 24-hour period that include ingredient/packaging, processing, receiving, and packing.
We also met with Beneful’s Chef Amanda, who took us on a culinary journey where I really felt my dog’s food morphed into gourmet entrees. She used ingredients inspired by Beneful dog foods to create textures and tastes while discussing why an item inspired her.
Look at this amazing Waffle with colored purees, topped with short ribs with sauce! It was incredible tasting!
Bailey Mae thinks the NEW Beneful dry dog food recipe is delicious!
She loves the NEW Beneful Incredibites with Real Beef as the #1 ingredient.
She loves all the flavors and the texture is perfect for her pint-sized mouth.
While a new recipe is exciting, be aware that dogs can be sensitive to change, especially when it comes to their food. Even changing from the original Beneful dog food to the new Beneful recipe, you’ll want to transition your dog. You can check out these helpful feeding and transition tricks to get started.
I know you are excited to have your fur baby try the new Beneful recipe. I’m excited to share that Beneful is offering you the opportunity to try the NEW Beneful for FREE. You can also share your experience with a rating on Beneful.com!
