Basic Vinaigrette Recipe

Today’s Best Recipe is Basic Vinaigrette.

As we head into the New Year, this basic vinaigrette recipe is a great addition to salads, as a marinade for meats, and more.

It is an olive oil-based dressing.

Try using flavored vinegar for a twist on the basic recipe.

My family prefers this easy vinaigrette recipe over store-bought brands.

I like that it is so simple to make, so we never run out.

This recipe has a shelf-life in the refrigerator of two weeks.

It offers only goodness, no preservatives, and whisks together in about 5 minutes.

A Note About Vinegar and Their Flavor:

Go Bold with Balsamic

Balsamic vinegar is my go-to for this recipe.

It creates a sweeter but bold dressing.

It works great for fruit and salads.

Punch It Up with Red Wine Vinegar

This vinegar picks up the bold flavors of tomatoes, bell peppers, and more.

Mellow Out with White Wine Vinegar

If looking for something more mellow as a dressing option, use White Wine Vinegar.

It is a delicate option for cucumbers, salads with spring greens, and more.

Simplicity at Its Best with Apple Cider Vinegar

Apple cider vinegar is a sweet and tangy option.

It is less bold but still offers the best flavor palate.
