Atlantic City is known for much more than just gambling. While it’s seen as Las Vegas’ little sister, Jersey Shore fans love the ocean and the original wooden promenade. There are plenty of things to see and do in Atlantic City.
Get the Car Ready
Before hitting the road, you want to make sure your car is in top condition. This can prevent accidents and other issues that could risk your family’s safety. Get your vehicle checked out by a mechanic and purchase auto insurance online.
Check out the Boardwalk
The best way to check out Atlantic City in all of its glory is to walk along the water on the boardwalk. You’ll be transformed to another era when people would purchase penny candy and play carnival games. The Atlantic City Boardwalk is known for its hundreds of confection stores, gift shops, and amusements located next to the sea.
It’s one of the most popular destinations in the world. It’s the very place that inspired the one in Walt Disney World, but that one can never measure up to the original. This iconic Atlantic City spot was built as a way to keep guests out of its ritzy hotels and railroad cars. Taking this scenic route will surely make for some people-watching.
Have a Beach Day
Don’t know what else to do? Have a day at the beach instead. The sand will feel incredible in between your toes. The roaring waters make it possible to go boogie boarding or surfboarding. It’s the perfect location if you just want to lie back and enjoy the sun. Make sure to bring sunscreen and bring a light jacket with you since it gets cold at night.
3-D Lights and Sound Show
Be sure to check out the 3-D Lights and Sound Show after dinner. This special-effects show at the Hall consists of lighting displayed on architectural design. It will keep you occupied for about 10 minutes or so. Shows play nightly, every half hour, starting at 8:30 PM EST. It’s the best way to see Atlantic City all lit up at night.
Exhale Spa at Ocean Resort
Feel like relaxing, but tired of the beach? Book a $170 massage at Exhale Spa at the Ocean Resort, the former Revel. This one-hour deep lymphatic flow massage will make you forget about the hustle and bustle of Atlantic City. Plus, you’ll want to spend an entire day at the Exhale Spa Bathhouse, complete with yoga and spin classes, a relaxing sauna, changing rooms, zen lounge, “Salt Grotto” mineral pool, thermal baths, and more. If you want to spend a day at the spa, but don’t want a massage, the day pass costs $75.
Check Out a Stage Show
Atlantic City is known for its attractions as well as its gambling. Many famous performers such as Lady Gaga, Michael Buble, and John Mellencamp have performed here. If live music isn’t your thing, get some laughs at the Comedy Club at Borgata. Be sure to score tickets to either event before your trip.
Get Away from the Kids
This might not be an exciting option but you can plan an escape at the Sheraton Atlantic City Convention Center. The secluded Starwood Hotel is just blocks away from the wooden plateau. It has its own circular drive which provides views of the Bert Parks statue and an entry garden where you can check out the original Miss America gowns. Each of the rooms includes luxurious amenities such as white sheets and granite bathtubs.
With these tips in mind, your trip to Atlantic City will relatively be stress-free.
