This week the weather has faded into fall. The evenings and mornings are crisp, the afternoons soggy with rain. It’s the perfect weather for one of my favorite comfort foods, SOUP! Arriving just in time for our comfort food celebration is 300 Sensational Soups.
Let’s face it, a good bowl of soup warms our soul, nourishes the heart and feeds the stomach. It’s tranquility. Contentment. Satisfaction. I like my soup hot, but some like the lighter versions that are cold. This book will entice your tastebuds and have you discovering something for every season, celebration and day!
I’ve been reading through the pages and smacking my lips at the thought of Beans. There’s a whole chapter in 300 Sensational Soups titled Beans, Beans and More Beans Soups. It takes tradition and adds flavor and culture. I’m looking forward to working my way through these recipes.
Winter means chowder on the menu and with a chapter titled Chow Down Chowders, how can I miss? I’m salivating over the Rich Lobster and Roasted Corn Chowder on page 278! Yum!
My husband works in the cold so coming home to a piping hot bowl of Hearty Soups for Meat Lovers might be the golden ticket. There’s Wild Mushroom and Orzo Soup with Italian Meatballs, page 114, Beef Stroganoff and Noodle Soup, page 149 and so many more to keep him warm from the inside out!
I even learned about dessert soups in this book. The Raspberry and White Chocolate Swirl Soup with Brownie Croutons, page 341, might be one I have to try.
Check out 300 Sensational Soups and indulge in the comforts a bowl of soup brings! You’ll be glad you did!
