Sweet Sally’s the Taste of Homemade Delivered to Your Door

I remember in Kindergarten watching my mom bake and then hand decorate giant cookie jack-o-lanterns for my class. I sat at the counter as she glazed them with orange frosting and hand-crafted jack-o-lanterns from licorice whips and candy corns. Perhaps that was when food become a symbol of love for me. These days, I’m the mom and baked goods are my glue with the kiddos. Something as simple as a cookie and a glass of milk gets them to open up with a day has been rough. A batch of brownies brings giggles and memories of making the recipe with my sisters.

Sometimes, time is not on my side. We go in many directions and the pause for baking seems far-fetched. Thanks to Sweet Sally’s baked goods are delivered right to the door—that’s some awesome love right there!

Receiving a package from Sweet Sally’s is joyous. The baked goods are beautifully packaged from a simple see through container to a white box tied with a simple red bow. It is the kind of package that makes you proud to send to loved ones far away, or receive yourself.

This was the box I selected first. It is filled with lemon bars, one of my favorites. I carefully untied the ribbon and opened the box.

It was like receiving a package from a friend. On the lid of the box is the story about the recipe. I loved reading about Sweet Sally and her friend Caryn; how they met and how the lemon bars continue to be a part of their friendship.

I gently lifted the red tissue paper and discovered this:

I gently lifted one out of the box. I was really surprised. Every lemon bar I’ve encountered has been extremely soft, like a custard tucked inside a crust. Sweet Sally’s are different. They have more of a brownie texture, a light dusting of powdered sugar.

The Divine Miss M raved about their incredible smell and decided to try one first.

She went on and on about how much she loved these lemon bars. I tried one and loved the texture and the tangy sweetness of the lemon. They are incredible!

Next we tried Sweet Sally’s Cheesecake Brownies. There is nothing skimpy about these decadent delights!

A recipe that combines two of Sweet Sally’s favorite things–brownies and cheesecake. They are a tribute to her mom.

I was really surprised how moist these brownies are–it was like we just pulled them from the pan. The combination of flavors is mouth-watering with a rich chocolate swirled with a cheesecake with just a hint of orange. Absolutely divine!

Li’l Man couldn’t wait to sink his teeth into the cookies. We read about the cookies being creations from Sweet Sally’s time at Wellesley College, hence the name: Wellesley Oatmeal Wonders. The chewiness of a traditional oatmeal cookie, packed with chocolate chunks, shreds of coconut and a tad of brown sugar made these one of my family’s favorite.

Li’l Man thought they tasted a lot like a cookie I make. That made me smile because I realized just how incredible homemade is and that Sweet Sally’s is delivering that goodness directly to our door!
