MAM Baby Review- Innovative Motherhood Review

I want the best for Baby Girl – just like every mommy out there – but I also want her to be uber-cute and adorable.  MAM baby products fill the bill on quality and cuteness!  Their designs are functional as well as adorable!  MAM sent me a variety of baby bottles, pacifiers, teethers, and oral care products to look at.  I am impressed with the innovation of their design.

MAM Baby Review

MAM Bottles

MAM’s baby bottles are designed to meet babies’ feeding needs at every stage.  Like all MAM products, the bottles are BPA-free, phthalate-free, PVC-free, lead-free, and CPSIA-compliant.  MAM bottles have an oversized, easy-to-read scale that makes measuring milk accurately easy.  Their extra wide opening makes it easy to fill and clean, and the 9-ounce bottles (for babies age 2+ months) and 11-ounce size (for babies age 4+ months) come in an assortment of fun colors like pink, green, and blue.

MAM uses an ultra-soft silicone Silk Teat nipple suitable for breast milk and formula.  The familiar orthodontic shape is ideal for switching from breast to bottle – babies instinctively like the MAM nipple because it feels familiar.

Of course, the nipples come in four sizes:

  • Size 1:  Slow Flow
  • Size 2:  Medium flow (2+ mos)
  • Size 3: Fast Flow (4 + mos.)
  • Size X:  Extra fast flow for thicker liquids (6+ mos).

MAM introduced its new Anti-Colic Bottle in 2011.  It helps reduce colic symptoms in babies by featuring a vented base that regulates the air pressure for a smooth milk flow with fewer air bubbles.  There are vented holes in the bottom of the bottle with a rubber seal that helps the air pressure.

I LOVE, love, love the practical sterilizing feature that allows for the quick and safe cleaning of an empty bottle in the microwave.  Look how awesome it is:

Put the nipple in the base of the bottle, you put water in the bottle, and then microwave it for 3 minutes.  Voila!  Sterile bottle!  I know I’ve been out of the baby business for a few years, but this bottle design is really swell.  The bottom of the bottle unscrews and you pop the top into the bottle.  Really neat!

The anti-colic bottles are available in the same fun colors as MAM’s other bottles and come in a 5-ounce or 8-ounce size.

MAM Pacifiers

Only one of the three kiddos has taken to a pacifier. While we try to avoid the pacifier trap after three months, they are handy the first three months to help Baby soothe herself – instead of making Mommy a *human pacifier*.

MAM Glow in the Dark Pacifiers

MAM Glow in the Dark Pacifiers

MAM pacifiers combine technology, function, and design to help give babies a healthy start in life.  All MAM pacifiers feature an anatomically correct nipple that allows little ones to safely satisfy their sucking reflex while maintaining proper jaw and tooth alignment.

MAM’s Perfect Pacifier, new in 2011, uses an extra-thin, super-soft nipple that puts less pressure on a baby’s jaw, reducing the risk of misaligned teeth.  In fact, the MAM Perfect’s nipple is 60% thinner and three times softer than those of comparable pacifiers.  The pacifier’s extra small design and lightweight make MAM Perfect ideal for infants.

All of MAM’s pacifiers, though, have symmetrical nipples, which are ideal for baby’s jaw and tooth development, and every nipple individually adapts to baby’s mouth so it’s always in the right position.  I absolutely adore the playful colors and design motifs that come in various sizes to provide a perfect fit for all ages.

One of the cutest pacifiers is MAM night which GLOWS IN THE DARK!  I can not begin to count the number of times I ended up poking Big Boy’s eyes while searching for a pacifier that fell out in the middle of the night!  I laugh about it now, but it was SO stressful at 1:30 in the morning!

MAM Teethers

MAM Teethers soothe baby’s sore gums with safe and textured chewing and cooling surfaces.  Bright colors and playful motifs sharpen the visual senses while curved, lightweight forms help promote Baby’s coordination and movement.

The MAM Starter Teether and Clip are super soft and textured, which is always helpful to soothe sore gums.  An easy-to-use clip safely attaches to the baby’s clothes to keep the teether accessible.  The cutie-patootie elephants that adorn the ring are precious!

I love the MAM Cooler.  It has a textured ring for babies 4+ months to hold and a three-pronged shape that provides cooling relief to molars.  Each prong has a different texture, giving baby a choice of soothing solutions.  Only the prongs are cool, which comforts the baby’s gums while keeping her hands nice and warm.

MAM Oral Care

The MAM Bite and Brush compliments daily oral care by gently cleaning Baby’s first teeth.  This teether has very soft bristles that gently massage her sensitive gums.  Of course, the lightweight design and the ring shape make it easy to hold too.  I plan to use the clippy from the Starter Teether to keep this teether accessible for Baby Girl.

MAM Oral Care Rabbit

MAM Bite and Relax Teether One area I admit I have neglected for the newborns is oral care.  We try to stick our fingers in their bitty mouths and rub those gums, but it would make all of them cry.  MAM has solved my problem by creating the MAM Oral Care Rabbit.  The glove-like rabbit helps maintain the baby’s oral hygiene before teeth arrive by gently removing plaque and bacteria from baby’s mouth.  Mom’s fingers tuck into the rabbit’s super soft ears like a glove and let her gently massage and clean Baby’s gums.  It really is super cute and will help calm Baby (or make her REALLY, REALLY afraid of pink bunnies!).  I’m just kidding; it is an uber-cute bunny that Baby will love!

So, I am thrilled that now I am ready for Baby Girl’s oral needs.  Ask me if I am ready for Baby Girl’s other needs…. not even close.  I am getting VERY nervous about her impending arrival – she is due March 24 (MES’s fourth birthday), and we will be closing on our new house on March 31, and hopefully, our house will sell before then…. wowsers!  There is so much going on.  I am thrilled that God has given us these adventures and blessings, and I know that it will all come together in the end, but looking forward, YIKES!  I have a lot to do!

Lauralee loves homeschooling her three kiddos: Ballerina, age 8, Big Boy, age 6, and MESS, age 3.  She enjoys sewing when she can find a spare corner to set up her machine and dig out fabrics, cooking and baking – especially if the kiddos are helping, and enjoying a good book after the kiddos have gone to bed.  She is thrilled to welcome a baby girl into the family in March 2012.
