I received Lipsense in exchange for this post. My opinion and my love for all lip pretties remain my own.
If you’ve been around me you know I love lip pretties. I have a thousand glosses, chapsticks and lipsticks spread out between my purse, pockets, desk, drawers, and cubbies. My addiction is bad.
On a blogging trip, there was talk about Lipsense. I was intrigued, but the color everyone was wearing wasn’t for me, so I didn’t really give it a second thought.
Scrolling through social media, Lipsense keeps popping up. So when Red Gate Beauty offered me the opportunity to try Lipsense for myself, and I could pick my color, I was in.
I chose Lipsense Mauve Ice
and the infamous Lipsense Glossy Gloss.
I was so excited; I bolted to tell MacKenzie, my thirteen-year-old. She said, “I have Lipsense.” Sure enough, from her “Lips purse,” she pulled out a Lipsense “Pink Champagne.” Grandma Rita, bless her heart, gave it to her.
So I tried MacKenzie’s, because seriously? Who can wait for new “lips”?!
It burned. Oh! It burned.
That was only the beginning. My lips also stuck together and pulled apart like I was trying to pry apart superglue.
“What the heck?!”
“You have to have the Lipsense Gloss. Then none of that will happen, Mom,” explained MacKenzie.
So? I waited.
Then MY Lipsense came!
There was excitement. I needed to try the color with the gloss.
I read the pamphlet.
Turns out you sort of need a degree in lip application to make the Lipsense Magic happen.
Clean and dry your lips. Do not exfoliate before applying color.
One thin swipe of Lipsense on the bottom lip.
One thin swipe of Lipsense on the top lip.
You’ll need to keep your mouth open while this coat dries–about 10-seconds.
One thin swipe on the bottom as a second layer.
One thin swipe of Lipsense on the top lip as a second layer.
Keep mouth open while the second coat dries.
Repeat a third time.
People, it burned. I am not going to lie. What I will tell you is stick it out. The burning will go away and your lips will be amazing! Supple, soft and ready for anything!
I read the instructions, and it said this burning (I think they use the word “Tingling, ” but I’m not going to kid you) sensation is normal.
They say it is your lips exfoliating.
My lips emerged magnificently. There is no burning whatsoever when I apply Lipsense now.
But once I waited for each of the three layers to dry (about 30 seconds total), with my mouth wide open. I could apply the Lipsense Glossy Gloss.
Within two, maybe three days, the burning went away, and my lips were buttery soft. The transformation felt amazing.
My color stayed all day.
Here I am after working 9 hours and only reapplying Lipsense Glossy Gloss.
With a new season officially here, and the inevitable holidays nearing, it’s time to think about switching up your beautiful staples.
Lipsense offers the darker hues of fall, the reds of the holidays. You can go from plum-hues to jolly reds.
Regardless of the Lipsense color, you choose, and whether you opt for their infamous Glossy Gloss, glitter gloss or matte gloss, your lips are going to look amazing from cocktails, through hor devours, during the main course and right through desserts.
Sip that Salted Caramel Pumpkin Spice Frozen coffee without a lip-print on your cup.
Lipsense has become my favorite lip beauty product. One color, mix colors, so many colors. No matter which one you put on your pout, Lipsense will see you through to the end of the day.
You’re wanting this product for yourself, right? I have my hues picked out for my “Wish List”…Fall is going to be amazing!
