So you’re going to start traveling with the little ones, and that’s awesome! But when going out, you’re going to need to start planning and making sure you have everything you need for your whole family. And one of the most important things to consider would be packing. Once you are with your whole family, you’ll not only be packing for yourself but your children as well! The question is: How?
Read on as I show you some foolproof tips on how to pack efficiently for your next travels with family, may it be camping essentials or for trips abroad.
How to Pack for Your Family
- Make a List for Each Person
To pack right, you’re going to need to organize! That’s why it’s best to make a packing list for EACH family member rather than to make a general list because you never know what they may need for their own. Plus, it makes it easier to assemble and segregate for folding and packing.
- Use a Ziploc for Clothes and Label
Saving space is another crucial thing to take note of when packing. So you’ll be able to have more room in the bag, you can use Ziplocs, which will press the clothes without wrinkles. Label the clothes by the day you’ll be using them, and you won’t need to mess your suitcases and waste time looking for what to wear.
- Don’t Share Bags!
Yes, it’s very tempting to share bags, but for the sake of wasting your time and effort looking for items in shared bags, don’t! You’ll end up confusing yourself and opening up every bag you need. As much as possible, use separate bags for everyone to make it easier to find items needed.
- Have Your Kids Help Out
Have your children get involved in the packing process and help them plan or organize their bags. They’ll feel important, and it keeps them busy. All the while making the task a bit easier for you. You can also have them help plan your trip to find what places they’d like to visit.
- Buy What You Can
While it may save you a bit of money, it’s a hassle having to overpack and go over the weight limit when traveling. I don’t pack toiletries because I know I’ll be able to buy cheap ones nice we head on to our destination. Or, hotels and cruises usually provide it for you! It saves up on space.
