It was when my daughter went back to school last year. It was her first year of middle school, and she was worried about finding her class. She was mortified that I would simply stroll in there, but I did not want my baby girl scared about finding her class!

Yesterday, I was walking my 8 year old daughter to school, and she grabbed my hand and held it all the way there. I was watching our shadow walking holding hands…I guess it is still cool to hold mom’s hand, even if we are not crossing the street. Such a sweet baby girl!

My favorite back to school memories are from my grade school years when me & my aunt(she was my best friend & we were only 2 months apart) were in the same grade and we would go back to shopping and get everything alike but in different colors & then then when we were in high school she passed away,6 days after her 16th B-day( she had brain cancer). The day I turned 13 was also the first day of 8th grade. While not exactly where you wanted to spend your birthday it was a pretty good day. I remember the outfit I wore (I wouldn’t wear it now but I thought I was cool then). I remember that there was a cake at school for me and balloons and I remember going out to dinner with my family.

  35. says

The one that is the most memorable to me right now is when I got my certificate in the mail stating that I made the deans list. The next best was the first day of school every year. 37. Delisa G says

My favorite back to school memory would have to be from the beginning of the 2010-2011 school year, when I took my daughter for her 3rd grade open house. My daughter was absolutely ecstatic to find that her FAVORITE teacher in the school was going to be HER third grade teacher. She’s generally pretty happy about starting a new school year, but for third grade, she was overjoyed, and THAT makes for a happy mommy!

This is a fantastic memory. My daughter is starting third grade this year also. We register tomorrow and hoping for a particular teacher. It’s beautiful anyway you slice it!
