When Zac was small we came across a book called “The Angel Alabaster”. It was so much a part of him that when we acquired a white Labrador he immediately became “Alabaster”. Reading Gabby, God’s Little Angel to my younger children, seemed to revisit that moment in time with Zac and his book about an angel. It is a beautiful story and by the end I was choking back my own tears.
Gabby, God’s Little Angel captured my children’s attention immediately. We all loved the illustrations and I was particularly fond of the message of God loves them and designates an angel to protect them.
” He has put his angels in charge over you. They will watch over you wherever you go.”
–Psalm 91 verse 11
The book stars Gabby, a clumsy and inattentive guardian angel. She is sent from Heaven to look over and protect a small child named, Sophie, who is very much like Gabby. Of course, being the inattentive guardian angel that she is, Gabby fails to take her job seriously and Sophie finds herself in a predicament, making Gabby realize the important role she has.
