Do you see your little ones spending too much time in the house, glued to their phones/tablets? Or maybe you want to give your 5-year-old an extra reason to spend some time outside, in the sun? I’ve been through the same problems with my own children, and I know from experience that the best way to get them outside is a good toy.
In my case, the best toy was a modern RC truck that later transformed into a huge collection of cars, monster trucks, and helicopters. The RC world has a certain pull for kids, and it’s a lot of fun for both children and adults.
You just have to find the right model that will bring enough cool features to raise a kid’s interest. And I have just the list with the top RC trucks for sale on the market today.
TOZO C1021 RC Car
This is a 1/18 scale RC vehicle, so I don’t recommend it for small kids, but it is great for racing. It is a 4WD buggy with 2.4GHz radio technology and off-road tires. It is fast (it gets up to 32mph) and has an independent shockproof system to reduce the vibrations while taking up various obstacles.
The runtime on this car is about 10 to 12 minutes, and the battery is a 7.4V/1100mAh Li-ion battery that takes about an hour and a half to charge. While the body is made out of non-toxic, durable plastic and the tires are safe to play with, I found that it’s too fast for small children and it could get rapidly damaged if rammed at high speeds into walls or other obstacles.
Fisher-Price My Easy RC Vehicle
This is the car for a 5-year-old or lower! With a cute controller and an interesting design, this small car will get to make the world more beautiful for your kid. The exciting part is that you control the speed – there are two modes: beginner and expert – according to the young one’s level of experience.
In my opinion, this is a nice starter RC car but keep in mind, it only works well indoors.
Maisto R/C Rock Crawler Extreme
This is a cool RC truck that will definitely keep your kids busy outside! It is called the crawler because it will go past every obstacle, regardless of size and shape. It is slower than the first model I mentioned, but it is a lot more stubborn, and it can go through all sorts of terrains like swamps, puddles, muddy areas, and so on. The electronics are sealed so the water and dirt won’t get inside and damage the inner workings.
This truck is great for racing events as it has three powerful motors and the controller is quite advanced (it allows for three cars to run simultaneously). If you want to learn more about these advanced models, take a look on RC Rank, but I recommend considering it only after your kids have been initiated in the RC world. If they like it, buy an advanced model that will allow them to participate in organized events.
