Get Active with the Aerobie Sprint Flying Ring

This past weekend we finally had beautiful weather. There was no snow and no rain, just sunshine, though it was a tad chilly outside. It was the perfect weekend to try out our new Aerobie Sprint flying ring.

First Lady, Michelle Obama, started a campaign called “Let’s Move”. Its purpose is to get children to engage in one hour of physical activity a day to grow up healthy. Former US Surgeon General, David Satcher observes “children who are more physically fit do better academically”.

The Aerobie Sprint flying ring not only gets the family active, but it is also great fun!

The sight of the Aerobie sent my husband and I into a moment of nostalgia.  We both remembered playing with Aerobie flyers growing up. My children thought it was hilarious something from “our time” was still around. My husband told them the Aerobie flying ring was the very item used in Avatar…I’m pretty sure he was telling tall tales, but the children stopped thinking we were ancient!

The Divine Miss M throwing the Aerobie

We all headed to the backyard and it didn’t take very long for all of us to understand how to throw the Aerobie Sprint flying ring. There was celebration each time they launched it and even more joy when it went in the direction they were shooting! Even when Mom and Dad stopped playing, the children continued–sometimes they took a break, but always went back to the game of throwing the flying ring!

Aerobie® Sprint Flying Ring
The Aerobie Sprint flying ring, a compact version of the world’s farthest thrown object, flies twice as far a regular disc for awesome games of catch.

Compact and lightweight, the Aerobie Sprint ring flies twice as far as conventional flying discs for awesome games of catch. Its smaller size is its only distinction from the otherwise identical Aerobie Pro flying ring, which holds the Guinness World Record for the longest throw. Ideal for those who enjoy the incredible flying performance of Aerobie rings but have a smaller area for play, the Sprint ring is great for backyards, parks, playgrounds, beaches, and camping trips. The ring’s soft rubber edge makes it comfortable to catch and fun for throwers of all skill levels. Size: 10-inch diameter. Available in orange, magenta, and yellow. Ages 7 and up. Quality made in the U.S.A.

Also try the Aerobie Pro flying ring, a larger model of the Sprint ring which holds the Guinness World Record for the farthest throw.
