Planning a Fancy Nancy Tea Party

A Fancy Nancy Clancy Tea Party

We love Fancy Nancy books at our house. They are entertaining, and my daughters can relate…too well to Fancy Nancy. I love that they promote vocabulary and have inspired my girls to read.

It’s a bet, if you have young girls, you know all about Fancy Nancy. Twitter Moms and Harper Collins have joined together to ask bloggers to share tips on hosting a Fancy Nancy party. I’m game.

There’s a Tea Party coming to town,
Linen Cloths, china, but no silly clown.
Girls that giggle, scream, and more,
Flowers and petite cakes galore!

Do you think you’d like to go? Ask your Mom,
We’d love to have you, but it’s girls only, no brothers named “Tom.”
Just you and me
Getting together for Fancy Nancy’s Party of Tea!

The boys are goin’ fishin’.
But when they return, they’ll be wishin’
The girls are celebrating Spring is Here,
Come dressed to the hilt, there’s going to be some glamourous gals here.

We’ll start with a fashion show and cookies,
Bring your favorite doll, or bear named “Pookie.”
We’ll decorate the place with lots of sparkle and flair
You’ll be missed if you aren’t there.

A Fancy Nancy Tea party would be a great event to host. Imagine an invitation made of your daughter’s drawing of her and her friends and accented with feathers and sparkling gems. You could print the date time and event details in a bright pink or purple to follow the Fancy Nancy theme. It would be fun to include stuffed animals and dolls and dress up the guests.

The decorations can be simple. Feather boas and flowers or just miniature tea sets. Flowers from your garden are set in teapots or teacups. Jewelry would be a fun addition draped on tables. Tulle is a very inexpensive decoration that adds a lot of glitz.

Introduce the girls to Fancy Nancy with the book Fancy Nancy Poet Extraordinaire. Fancy Nancy is a delightful read and would be great while the guests gather for petite cakes and finger foods. You could even provide one as a door prize.

Other great ideas could be incorporated from the Fancy Nancy Tea Parties book. It’s jam-packed with great ideas for a z Party.

Fancy Nancy Recipes has some delightful ideas for tea party refreshments. We’re talking fun things like Wand Cookies, Nancy’s Extra Fancy Lemonade, and Edible Jewelry!
